Project DeepCause: Pratexo’s Generative AI-Enabled Root Cause Analysis Expert System Solution Builder is a computer system that uses artificial intelligence to collaborate with human domain experts. This allows for proactive maintenance through detecting anomalous conditions, alerting of impending faults, analysis of root causes, and automated remediation.

Project DeepCause is the effort to perfect an expert system ‘builder’ that is able to augment the capabilities of an OT, process, or domain expert with a generative AI-based assistant. The ultimate goal is to reduce by over 90% the time and technical complexity involved in creating a fault-cause graph for a complex machine or process that then forms the basis of intelligent systems running on the industrial edge. These systems will analyze streaming IoT data to detect and predict faults and other specified conditions based on an understanding of their possible root causes. Improvements in reliability, efficiency, safety, and profitability are the ultimate outcomes.

Unlike out-of-the-box applications for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance, Project DeepCause creates systems that are highly customized to the particular needs of the domain expert, can be quickly designed and deployed, and minimize the requirement to involve computer programmers and big data analysts in their creation.

By hosting the resulting systems on the Pratexo Platform, they can be deployed anywhere between the machine edge and the cloud; they are able to run at low latency; they can keep data local and private and continue to run even if disconnected from central clouds; and they can integrate across multiple OEM suppliers.
